Apparently I have offended one of my followers by not writing a post about 9/11. My apologies. I’m a full time college student who works almost 30 hours a week. I don’t get paid to do this blog, nor do I any longer get school credit for it. I simply had other things on my plate.

As always, I thank the men and woman who serve our country. The firefighters (volunteer as well), EMS personnel, police officers and Armed Services are what makes our country function. They put their lives on the line to protect us, usually on a very low pay scale. They do jobs that most people are “too good for”. They get cussed at, puked on, shot at, bled on. They run into burning houses to rescue people they don’t even know.

So, in conclusion, I meant no offense when I didn’t write a post on September 11. I have the utmost respect for everyone who lost their lives on that day.

  1. It’s ridiculous if someone is offended because you didn’t write a post about 9/11. Do we still do that for the battle of Gettysburg? Do we still do that about Pearl Harbor? Do we still do it about the Oklahoma City bombing? I say this as a former U.S. Marine and someone who has been a volunteer firefighter for more than ten years. Yes, I’m proud as hell of what I do, but there are many honorable citizens and many important moments in our nation’s history. Write about what you want.

    • Well the person I offended isn’t a former soldier/firefighter/police officer as far as I’m aware. I supposed as long as I’m not offending the people who work to protect our country and community then I must be doing something right. Thanks for your support!

  2. I’m sorry you had to even write this post. I didn’t have anything ready for Sept. 11 either. I post on Tuesday and Friday, and it fell on a Tuesday this year. I should have written about the fact that my 8-year-old doesn’t really know anything about what happened Sept. 11 – the world as we know it now is all she’s ever known.

I just deferred my Tuesday post until Wednesday. It didn’t mean I wasn’t aware, and I know that’s the case for you, too.

You said it was one of your readers, right? Well, the rest of us are just looking forward to what you write next, no matter what the date might be.
