In New Mexico, a woman rescued two children from a moving vehicle. Leslie Bicknell pulled up outside of a strip mall and parked next to a minivan. As she was getting out of her truck, she noticed a small child sitting in the front seat, with another in the back. The keys were in the ignition and the child was reaching towards the gear shift. Ms. Bicknell knew she had to act fast. She jumped out of her truck to try to prevent the van from rolling into a dangerous intersection.
Her plan backfired when her truck began to roll backwards into the street. In her haste to jump out, she accidentally knocked her own truck out of gear. Luckily, Ms. Bicknell’s truck rolled just behind the minivan, blocking its access to the street.
The mother, who was not named, left her two children in the van while she ran into a convenience store in the strip mall. There is no word on whether she will be charged.
